Implementing energy savings at Tawesco
In 2015, we embarked on a three-year refurbishment of our 1980s halls, which were in a poor state of repair. They were experiencing significant energy losses. Thanks to the project, which was co-funded by the EU, energy costs were reduced by 35% and emissions were reduced, with an overall positive impact on the environment in Kopřivnice.
The following measures were taken within the project:
- Improvement of the thermal technical properties of selected envelope constructions in both halls 409 and 414 and buildings 411 and 412, thanks to the insulation of the envelope walls of the halls and buildings.
- Replacement of the window openings in both halls 409 and 414 and building 411
- Installation of door screens in Hall 409
- Replacement of the glazing of the skylight in Hall 409
- Insulation of the roof and skylight roof of Hall 409
- Change of heat source - installation of gas radiators and gas boiler in Hall 409
Main benefits of the project:
- Realisation of significant energy savings in production totalling 1785.013 MWh
- Reduction of CO2 emissions totalling 1,138,612.142 kg/year
- Reduction of other pollutants, in particular CO2, NOx, CO and particulate matter
- Reduction of energy purchase and consumption costs for heating in the total annual amount of CZK 4 323 944
- Positive impact on the environment in Kopřivnice
- Positive impact on the working environment of more than 700 employees
- Significant renovation of production halls and buildings that were located in the old industrial area, improving the character of the overall area and the character of the surrounding landscape
